VisionScienceList: Data acquisition cards for Macs?

Dear colleagues:

Please help us to find Data acquisition cards (ADC) for Macintosh
computers.

We are successfully presenting our stimuli and simultaneously acquiring
EEG signals on Macintosh computers (e.g.: <http://www.ukl.uni-
freiburg.de/aug/bach/ep2000/>). To achieve millisecond synchronization
between stimulus display and brain potentials we need direct card access
(like: "give me the voltage on channel n right now [that is, in the next
20 microsecs]"). Consequently, the usual data acquisition functions
provided within, for instance, NI-DAQ by National Instruments do not fit
the bill. And their more recent cards, e.g. the 6035 and the
PCI-MIO-16XE-10, are not supported by their so-called "register level"
drivers.

We are setting up several new experiments and would happily switch to
any simple ADC card from any manufacturer, which just gives direct
register access to select channels, initiate conversions and retrieve
the result, so we could access it from interrupt level.

The OSX situation will, of course, become even more complex...

Hoping you can help us in this,
Best,
Michael.
