Research Associate I (Student)
A research position in Eye Movements, Psychophysics & Computational Modeling
is now available at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San
Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will be a current student (undergraduate
or graduate) pursuing a degree in vision science, computer vision,
neuroscience or psychology.
Research will be conducted in the labs of Laura Renninger, PhD and Preeti
Verghese, PhD. Collaborators include James Coughlan, PhD and Donald

It is expected that the candidate will work full time during summer and part
time during the academic year. This is a paid two-year appointment. Research
responsibilities will be adjusted according to skill and education level.
Applicants with experience in any of the follow areas are especially
encouraged to apply.
Experimental Techniques: Human psychophysics & eye tracking
Computational Modeling & Theory: Statistics, signal detection theory,
information theory & visual neuroscience
Programming: Matlab, C++
Data Analysis: Bootstrapping techniques, ANOVA, data fitting, etc.
Smith-Kettlewell is a non-profit, independent research institute in San
