[visionlist] New 1million Euro Award for Vision Sciences Deadline December 31st

The entry period for the 1 million Euro, 2010 António Champalimaud  
Vision Award is underway with a submissions deadline on December 31st.  
The award will be presented to an active research group involved in  
basic or clinical research, which has led to a major breakthrough in  
the understanding and/or the preservation of vision.
Candidates will be considered by a distinguished international jury  
for the outstanding quality and distinction of their original research  
contributions, the contemporary relevance of their work and measurable  
impact of their achievements.The award may be used in any way that  
furthers the outstanding contributions of the recipients. This could  
be furthering basic, translational or clinical research, clinical  
practice or public health programs.

The deadline for submissions is December 31st 2009

Nominations are requested from members of the scientific community in  
order to identify the most exceptional candidates. Nomination forms  
are short and easy to complete. Forms and further information are
