Announcing a full time research assistant position in Stephen 
Mitroff's Visual Cognition Lab at Duke University. This position is 
to serve as 'project manager' for a new research study on the 
malleability of visual and attentional processes with a focus on 
sports related questions. Duties include helping with gathering and 
creating experimental materials, recruiting and running subjects, 
managing undergraduate research assistants, assisting with day-to-day 
operations, and helping with data analysis. The position requires a 
Bachelor's degree, basic computer skills, excellent organizational 
skills, and a strong interest in sports. Programming knowledge (e.g., 
Matlab) is very strongly preferred but not absolutely required. Prior 
experience with human subject running is highly preferred. A one year 
commitment is required.

Related research projects in the lab examine individual differences 
in, and the malleability of, visual perception and attention. Topics 
of interest include what makes one individual a better visual 
searcher than another, how can visual search abilities can be 
enhanced and trained, and how can visual cognition be altered through 
prior experiences and training regimens. Additional information about
