Postdoctoral Position
Psychophysics and fMRI of visual alteration in macular degeneration

We are looking for an individual eager to combine psychophysical and
neuroimaging techniques to understand vision loss and cortical
plasticity. The individual will have the opportunity to work with a
pre-defined, carefully characterized patient population. The project
will combine a novel application of psychophysical measures to
clinical vision loss and advanced neuroimaging techniques to measure
cortical organization for vision. The individual would be part of an
active group of collaborators between the departments of Neurology and
Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, and have access to the
Penn Center for Functional Neuroimaging (cfn.upenn.edu). The Center
contains a state-of-the-art, 3T Siemens TIM compatible scanner with
extensive data analysis expertise and equipment. This is an ideal
environment in which to develop skills in visual psychophysics and
translational neuroscience. A strong background in visual psychology
or neuroscience is emphasized, as are well-developed computational
skills, including script writing or programming. The University of
Pennsylvania is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
Women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
