There is an immediate opening for a full time research technician in the 
Vision Center Laboratory at the Salk Institute.  Research in the 
laboratory addresses the neuronal mechanisms of visual perception.  
Responsibilities include daily training of laboratory animals for 
physiological experiments, MRI scans, and surgical procedures.  You will 
work closely with the veterinary staff to ensure peak colony health and 
communication between departments.  Other responsibilities include 
coordinating and running experiments, and ordering and stocking lab 
supplies.  The ideal candidate will have a biological sciences or 
physiology background with experience in a laboratory animal facility or 
research facility.  Prior experience with non-human primates and 
anesthesia monitoring preferred but not essential.
