The Attention laboratory in the Department of Psychology and Institute
for Collaborative Biotechnologies at the University of California,
Santa Barbara is considering applications for a position as a post-
doctoral researcher in cognitive neuroscience of attention, vision,
learning and decision making. The successful candidate will
participate in EEG and fMRI projects integrating pattern
classification methods, computational modeling and psychophysics. The
project will involve collaborations with the Vision Image and
Understanding laboratory at UCSB (Dr. Miguel Eckstein). The position
is for one year (renewable for up to 3 years). The post-doctoral
researcher will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety
of ongoing neuroscience and cognitive neuroscience activities
sponsored by the Sage Center for the Study of the Mind (http://www.sagecenter.ucsb.edu/
).
Requirements: The successful candidate should have a strong technical
background and a Ph.D. in any of the following: Vision Science,
Perceptual Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Medical
Physics. Experience with EEG, FMRI, programming (C, MatLab, or IDL),
knowledge of multivariate mathematics and pattern classifiers,
statistics, and image processing required. Training and research
experience in attention, visual psychophysics and computational
modeling of vision preferable.
The department is especially interested in candidates who can
contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
