The PhD studentships advertised below can be used for a PhD project
about visual cognition or attention. Please note that the funding is
only available for UK or EU citizens or those with no time restrictions
on their right to stay in the UK.
Two PhD Studentships
Department of Psychology, University of Portsmouth.
Studentship: (£13,590 per annum plus £1,000 research expenses per annum
for 3 years)
Starting: 4 October 2010
Applications are invited for two fully funded full-time PhD
studentships in the Department of Psychology at the University of
Portsmouth. Applications are welcomed that complement our existing
research strengths in Forensic Psychology; Cultural Psychology,
Communication and Ecological Psychology; Study of Emotion and
Engagement; Evolutionary and Comparative Psychology; Quality of Life,

The studentships will be funded for three years and include tuition
fees and a maintenance grant (£13,590 in 2010-2011). The successful
candidates will receive an additional £1,000 per year for research
related expenses, as well as office space and personal computing
facilities.
Applicants will have a Bachelors degree in Psychology or a related
discipline. Preference will be given to students with a Masters (or
equivalent) in research training relevant to the proposed research or a
first class undergraduate degree.
