[visionlist] Scientific American Special Issue on Visual Illusions displayed on newstands until July 12th

Dear Colleagues,

 

Scientific American MIND has published a Special Issue ("169 Best
Illusions") that contains 10 full-length articles on visual illusions,
including face illusions, color illusions, kinetic illusions, afterimages,
impossible objects and many other categories of illusions. All 10 articles
were co-authored by Stephen Macknik and myself, and most of them feature
winning or finalist illusions from the "Best Illusion of the Year Contest",
which is hosted by the Neural Correlate Society as an official satellite of
VSS (http://illusioncontest.neuralcorrelate.com). The Special Issue author
fee was donated to the 2010 Contest.

 

Many of you have contacted us to express an interest in acquiring this
Special Issue as a resource for lectures as well as graduate and
undergraduate courses. This is to notify you that the Special Issue will be
displayed on US newsstands until July 12th.
