Research Assistant Professor

The University of Pittsburgh Department Radiology is recruiting for a
Research Assistant Professor outside the tenure stream. The candidate should
have a PhD in one of the following disciplines: physics, diagnostic medical
physics, psychophysics, bioengineering, biostatistics or related area.  The
research in the group involves developing assessment methodology for
observer performance tasks involving lesion localization in medical imaging,
simulation testing of the algorithms, end-user software development,
eye-tracking measurements, modeling visual search performance and conducting
free-response ROC (FROC) studies.  Analytical, mathematical, communication
and programming skills are needed.  Writing manuscripts and grant
applications are required and independent research will be encouraged. This
is an opportunity to join a group doing leading-edge research in medical
