Dear colleagues, please accept our apologies for multiple postings.

We are glad to announce that the 6th edition of "Alpine Brain Imaging
Meeting" will take place next year again in Champéry (Switzerland),
from January 9 to 13, 2011.
The preliminary program and details can be found in the flier attached
here, or on the website: http://labnic.unige.ch/ABIM/

The deadline for registration and abstract submission is DECEMBER 12.

Please forward this announcement to your colleagues who might be
interested. Given that that the number of rooms is limited,
registration will be on a first-come first-served basis, so
participants are encouraged to register early.

Then conference will feature 4 days of talks, with invited speakers
who are experts in different aspects of fMRI and EEG in cognitive
neuroscience, and there will be free talks and poster presentations by
other participants. Featured sessions include the following speakers:

New approaches to mapping large-scale brain networks
Arthur Toga (UCLA School of Medicine, USA)
Ed Bullmore (School of Clinical Medicine, University of Cambridge, UK)
Angie Laird (University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio,
USA)

Intracranial recordings of human brain activity
Itzhak Fried (Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, USA)
Christoph Kayser (Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics,
Tübingen, Germany)
Nikolai Axmacher (Universität Bonn, Germany)

Mirroring and understanding others
Tania Singer (Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain
Sciences, Leipzig, Germany)
Christian Keysers (University Medical Center Groningen, Netherlands)
Marcel Brass (Universiteit Gent, Belgium)

Odor perception and emotion
Moustafa Bensafi (Lyon, France)
Thomas Hummel (University of Dresden Medical School, Germany)

The schedule of lectures will offer sufficient time for both ski
(morning) and science (afternoon), with optimal conditions for
interactive exchanges and discussions between all participants.

We have arranged with the Hotel Suisse and the Palladium Sport Center
in Champéry to have relatively cheap accommodations (in this region in
this season) and keep low registration fees, so we encourage
participants to book early in those two hotels. For the first time,
child care will be available for those coming with a young family. See
website for details.

To register and submit an abstract, you will need to create a personal
account on http://labnic.unige.ch/ABIM/?Registration , allowing you to
monitor your reservation status and modify your abstract until the
final submission deadline. If you want to receive information about
the conference in the future, you can also register to our mailing
list on https://list.unige.ch/mailman/listinfo/abim .

Champéry is a small but excellent ski resort, with more than 100 ski
lifts and 500 km of runs, connected to the domain of the “Portes du
Soleil” that link 14 different resorts across the Swiss and French
border (see http://www.champery.ch & http://www.portesdusoleil.com).
It can be reached easily and directly by train from Geneva Airport
(approximately 2 hours), or by car and buses. Geneva Airport has many
international connections (http://www.gva.ch), but you will have to be
careful to book flights in advance because the winter season is very
busy! Another possible airport is Zurich.

If you have other questions, please contact Marie-Ange.DeLaSen at unige.ch

We are looking forward to seeing you in Champéry!
