Conference on Human Vision and Electronic Imaging (HVEI)

Every year, this conference brings together a multidisciplinary mix of
perceptual and cognitive scientists, imaging scientists, inventors and
artists from around the world to explore issues at the intersection between
vision  and emerging technologies.

Some highlights of this year's program include:

      - *Jan Koenderink *(Delft) on "Vision as a User Interface"
      - *Georges Grinstein* (U. Mass) on Visualization Grand Challenges
      - *Anton Koning *(Erasmus) on "How 3D Immersive visualization is
      changing medical diagnostics
      - *Kristof Koch* (Cal Tech) "On the Relationships between Selective
      Visual Attention and Visual Consciousness"
   - Special Sessions
   - Invited session on Perceptual and Cognitive Challenges in Visualizing
      Bioinformatics Data
      - Joint session with the Stereo Conference on Evaluating the Quality
      of the Stereoscopic Experience
      - Joint session with the Image Quality Conference on Visual Attention,
      Saliency and Quality
      - Invited Session on Attention and Gaze in Constructing the Visual
      World
   - Guided tour of the San Francisco Museum of Art exhibit on "Exposed:
   Voyeurism, Surveillance and the Camera Since 1870, complementing our
   technical sessions on visual attention
   - Monday night Banquet Speaker:  *Mark Changizi *(Rensselaer Polytechnic
