Up to two MPhil/PhD positions are available in the Psychology
Department of the University of Hong Kong, in the Perception and
Action lab of Dr. Li Li starting September 2011.
The MPhil (Master of Philosophy) position is for 2 years and the
Ph.D. position is for 4 years. Both positions are fully funded by the
university and research grants awarded to Dr. Li Li with a tax-free
yearly stipend of US$20,770. During the study period, students can
get up to two travel awards from the graduate school and one from the
department for presenting at international conferences (up to
US$1,730 per trip). In addition, students can apply for the Hong
Kong Ph.D. fellowship offered by Hong Kong Research Grant Council. If
awarded through open competition, the fellowship offers a tax-free
yearly stipend of US$30,770 and an additional research and
conference-related travel allowance of US$1,281 per year, for up to 3 years.
Students will be expected to work on projects supervised by Dr. Li Li
that use interdisciplinary approaches to examine visual information
affecting perception and motor control of self- and object motion,
and the related real-world problems in human factors. For more
