The Fourth Annual Berkeley Conference on Translational Research
"Technological Advances and the Changing Face of Ocular Diagnosis and
Therapy: Bringing Translational Research to Clinicians"
Stanley Hall, UC Berkeley ~ November 21, 2010
For more information, including online registration and travel-grant
applications, go to:

This conference will feature presentations on cutting-edge
technologies used in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
Leading scientists involved in translational vision research will
discuss innovative advances with important clinical applications in
areas such as optics, functional imaging, and gene therapy. This will
be a must-attend event for vision scientists and eye care
professionals.
CE credits for optometrists are available, as are travel grants for
junior researchers who agree to submit an abstract and present a
poster (several of the best scientific posters will be eligible for
cash prizes). Registration includes continental breakfast, as well
as lunch and a wine & cheese reception.
Invited speakers include:
Marcus Bearse, PhD (UC Berkeley): Advances in ERG/VEP
David Birch, PhD (Medical Center of the Southwest, Dallas, TX): The
Use of Advanced Imaging Technology to Understand Eye Disease
Tom Budinger, MD, PhD (UC Berkeley): Possibilities for Non-optical
Ophthalmic Imaging
Artur Cideciyan, PhD (University of Pennsylvania): Curing Lebers
Congenital Amaurosis
Jacque Duncan, MD (UC San Francisco): Adaptive Optics Imaging as an
Outcome Measure for Treatments of Retinal Degeneration
Kenneth Greenberg, PhD (UC Berkeley): Ocular Neuromodulator-Based
Gene Therapy for Retinal Degeneration
Cynthia Toth, MD (Duke University): OCT Image Analysis
Brian Wandell, PhD (Stanford University): Clinical Applications of
Functional MRI
David Williams, PhD (University of Rochester): Adaptive Optics for
Understanding Vision and Eye Disease
