DESCRIPTION.  A full-time research investigator position is open in  
the area of image analysis.  The position involves pursuing  
independent cutting-edge image analysis methodology research,  
supporting and establishing collaborations with clinical/basic science  
investigators, and contributing image analysis support to vision  
investigators as part of the core services supported through NIH grant  
P30 EY001583.

QUALIFICATIONS.  Highly advanced professional discipline. M.D., Ph.  
D., or equivalent doctoral degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience  
or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  
[The experience requirement can be waived for exceptional applications  
with less experience.]  Excellent background in mathematics,  
computational sciences and software development, and a strong track  
record of independent research in imagine analysis and processing,  
with publications in the field's major journals and conferences  
required. The ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively  
with other technical staff is also important. Applicants with  
expertise in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:  
Computer vision, medical imaging, machine learning and statistical  
methods for image-based inference, and insight toolkit. Position  
contingent upon funding.
