There was much discussion on visionlist about whether and which LCD
monitor may be accurate enough for research in vision. We have tested in
detail one 120-Hz Samsung model and have good news for vision
researchers. The monitor is in many ways on par with a CRT and sometimes
even better.
We wrote a full report on various tests such as luminance, timing, and
reliability. The journal reviewing the paper has agreed with posting the
draft on the web to enable the community to learn about the monitor
without a delay. To download the draft of our manuscript, go the web
site of my visual stimulation software: www.ActiveSTIM.com
