Post-Doctoral Position in Learning and Decision Making
Daphne Bavelier's laboratory, University of Geneva, Switzerland

Post-doctoral positions are available in the Brain and Vision Lab at
the University of Geneva, Switzerland, starting in September 2011.
Applicants will be expected to conduct independent and collaborative
research evaluating the factors that promote learning and brain
plasticity from the perspective of decision making in humans.
Candidates should have finished or should be close to submitting a
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Computer
Science, or other relevant fields, with an academic record of
scientific excellence, independent research, and a strong interest in
an interdisciplinary approach to learning and decision making. Strong
training in one of the fields related to learning and brain
plasticity (statistical learning, machine learning, neural bases of
skill learning), or/and an excellent mastery of the field of decision
making (with a particular emphasis on the role of reward and emotion
in decisions) are requested.
The successful candidate will help design and implement behavioral
(and possibly brain imaging) studies of perceptual, motor or language
learning, and model behavioral and/or brain imaging data. A strong
programming background is highly valued, as is experience with brain
imaging analysis packages or computational approaches to learning.
Proven ability to work in a collaborative fashion is expected.
Opportunities for assisting in teaching of undergraduates or graduate
students also available.
Informal inquiries should be addressed by email to Daphne Bavelier
