The Low Vision Research Laboratory at the Centre for Ophthalmology,
University of Tuebingen, has an opening for a Research Assistant
Professor in Vision Rehabilitation to work with Dr. Susanne
Trauzettel-Klosinski. The overall goal of the project is to assess
adaptive mechanisms in patients with visual field defects and to
improve rehabilitation strategies, especially by specific training
programs. Eye movement recording during different tasks and
psychophysical examinations will be the main technique used.
The ideal candidate should have a background in vision science,
rehabilitation research or visual psychophysics, experience with eye
movement research and a keen interest in working with people with
vision impairments.
The position is initially available for 2 years with the option of an
extension for another 2 years. Start date is April 2011, with some
flexibility.
