A Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jess Cardin in the Department of Neurobiology at Yale University. Under the supervision of the principal investigator, the Research Assistant will assist in projects focused on visual cortex function. Basic tasks will involve genotyping and immunohistochemistry of relevant mouse lines and performance of mouse visual behavioral experiments. It is also expected that the Research Assistant will assist in monitoring, maintaining, and weaning a mouse colony. In-depth involvement in the planning and performance of experiments is encouraged, as is willingness to learn new skills. Candidates should have previous experience in rodent handling and standard laboratory techniques. Previous experience in vision research, programming, or confocal microscopy would also be useful, but not necessary. This position is full-time, with benefits.
