  Postdoctoral Position

*Laboratory for Road Operation, Perception, Simulation and
Simulator, French Institute of Science and Technology for
      Transport *-- Psychology

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral position to work with Dr
Régis Lobjois on a project to study the relationship between
eye-movements measures and mental workload in the context of the
validation of a moving-base motorcycle riding simulator. The project
will involve a series of experiments investigating how the manipulation
of the immersive and interactive characteristics of the riding simulator
(e.g., size of the field of view, type of control of the simulator) or
of the workload itself (e.g., by using a GPS) affect this relationship.

Applicants should have a PhD in cognitive or experimental psychology or
neuroscience, a strong background in behavioural research, and strong
abilities in data analysis. Previous research experience using
eye-tracking measures and models of attention is highly desirable.

The Laboratory for Road Operation, Perception, Simulation and Simulator
is located in Paris, has an excellent research profile and benefits from
state-of-the-art research facilities (e.g., top of the range riding
simulator and eye-tracker).

The preferred start date is September, for a period of 12 months. The
salary is commensurate to French standard (2500 euros). Informal
enquiries and further details are available by contacting Dr Régis
Lobjois by email: regis.lobjois at ifsttar.fr
<mailto:regis.lobjois at ifsttar.fr>.

Interested applicants should submit: (i) a full curriculum vitae with a
list of publications and contact details of two academic referees; (ii)
a 1-page statement of past and current research activities and areas of
interest. The submission form will include a 4-page research program
that must be elaborated and written with Régis Lobjois.

Closing date: 25th February 2011.
