** ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MARCH 10 **

The 2011 Asia-Pacific Conference on Vision (APCV) will be held from Friday 15 to Monday 18 July 2011 at the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China. The meeting will coincide with the University's Centenary year.

APCV aims to facilitate debate concerning vision research throughout the Asia-Pacific by bringing together scientists from the broad range of disciplines contributing to modern vision science, including:

Visual Psychophysics
Visual Physiology & Anatomy
Visual Cognition
Perception and Action
Computational Vision
Artificial Vision
Brain Imaging
Eye Movements
Multisensory Integration
Visual Development
Vision and Reading
The conference is based in the Asia-Pacific region (e.g., Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Australia) but attendees are welcome from around the world. The language of the conference is English.

Confirmed keynote speakers for the conference are Jeremy Wolfe (Harvard Medical School), Marty Banks (UC Berkeley), and KF So (HKU). 

Five symposia will be held:

Attentional Selection: Liqiang Huang (HK), Arni Kristjansson (Iceland), Jun Saiki (Japan), Katsumi Watanabe (Japan), Jeremy Wolfe (USA)

Perception of Art: Branka Spehar (Australia), Gert van Tonder (Japan), Richard Taylor (USA), Barbara Gillam (Australia)

Predictive coding in vision and brain imaging: Lars Muckli (UK), Moshe Bar (USA), Michael Breakspear (Australia), Jakob Hohwy (Australia)

Optic Flow, perception, and action: Li Li (HK), John Wann (UK), Rob Gray (UK), Markus Lappe (Germany)

Perceptual Learning: Fang Fang (China), Cong Yu (China), Shawn Green (USA), TBA

We are now accepting submissions for either talk (15 minute) or poster presentations, via the conference website:

The deadline for abstract submission has been extended due to popular demand to March 10, 2011.  

Hong Kong is one of the world's most exciting cities. The meeting location on Hong Kong Island provides easy access to some of Hong Kong’s most famous sights including the spectacular views from the Peak and the dining/entertainment precincts of Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo.  The optional conference banquet will be preceded by a boat trip allowing you to experience two of Hong Kong’s main attractions: Victoria Harbour and Cantonese cuisine.

A limited number of travel grants are available for students presenting their work at the meeting.
