The 34th European Conference on Visual Perception
28th August- 1st September 2011, Toulouse, France
This is a reminder that the deadline for
submitting abstracts for this year's ECVP meeting
is the 1st of April - in just over two weeks.
Please remember that you need to register in
order to submit an abstract (but any rejected
abstracts will be fully refunded).
Full information can be found on the web site - see http://www.ecvp2011.org/
We are delighted to be able to announce that in
addition to being held just one week after the
European Conference on Eye Movements in
Marseille (ECEM 2011 - see
<https://sites.google.com/a/univ-provence.fr/ecem2011/>https://sites.google.com/a/univ-provence.fr/ecem2011/
), two additional Vision meetings will be taking
place in Toulouse in association with ECVP,
making a visit to Toulouse even more attractive
for vision researchers.
Firstly, the Symposium on Applied Perception in
Graphics and Visualization (APGV 2011) will be
held on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th
of September (see http://www.apgv.org/ ). On
Sunday, there will be a joint ECVP-APGV session
including two symposia - "Deforming shapes -
deformable templates" in the morning, and
""Computer Vision & Biological Vision" in the
afternoon. Both will be open to anyone who has
registered for either meeting.
Secondly, the Applied Vision Association (
http://www.theava.net/) is planning a meeting on
"Animal Vision" on Friday the 2nd of September,
also in Toulouse - details will be available
shortly.
Finally, we would like to thank the many people
who made suggestions for symposia. The committee
has selected 5 symposia, and one mini-symposium
with the following themes:
"Processing of Visual Space" (co-chaired by Frank
Bremmer (Germany) & Yves Trotter (France)).
"Rhythms of Perception and Attention" (co-chaired
by Ayelet Landau (Germany) & Rufin VanRullen
(France).
"How do spontaneous fluctuations shape visual
perception?" (co-chaired by Hakwan Lau (Canada)
& Floris de Lange (Netherlands)).
"Synaesthesia in focus - Examining behaviour and
the brain beyond colour perception"
(chaired by Anina Rich (Australia)).
"Gestalts in the brain" (co-chaired by Johan
Wagemans & Hans OpDeBeeck (Belgium))
"Perceiving other's actions" (chaired by Gunther Knoblich (Netherlands)).
And of course, there will be plenty of space for
other talks on the whole range of subjects
covered by the meeting, so do send those
abstracts in soon!!
Hoping to see you in Toulouse!
Simon Thorpe and the ECVP organizing committee
