POSTDOC IN THE KASTNER LAB AT PRINCETON
A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the
Neuroscience of Attention & Perception Laboratory, led by Dr. Sabine
Kastner in the Department of Psychology and Princeton Neuroscience
Institute at Princeton University. This is a full-time, 1 year
position with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance.
The lab uses a variety of methods (fMRI and DTI in human and non-human
primates, psychophysics, TMS, non-human primate electrophysiology) to
study attention at various levels of processing from subcortical
structures (LGN, pulvinar) to higher-order cortex (fronto-parietal
areas). The postdoctoral researcher will work on fMRI studies of
normal human subjects, focusing on attention effects of thalamic
nuclei. In addition to this line of research, the postdoctoral
researcher will be given the opportunity to participate in other lab
research endeavors, and they will be expected to make a strong
contribution to the lab's overall research efforts.
Essential qualifications for this position include: a Ph.D. in
Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or other closely related
field; strong background in fMRI and strong quantitative skills using
Matlab. Candidates must pass a standard MR safety screening in order
