About Anglia Ruskin University
Our vibrant, modern University has ambitious plans for its future. Our two
main campuses in Cambridge and Chelmsford are being transformed with major
capital investments. With an annual income of £139m, 28,000 students and
2,100 staff, we are a major force for higher education in the East of
England.

About the role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to
join the Vision and Eye Research Unit (VERU) at our Cambridge campus. VERU is
part of the Postgraduate Medical Institute and it fosters interdisciplinary
research environment across different departments and faculties. We have a
number of successful partnerships with the NHS, especially Hinchingbrooke and
Addenbrookes hospitals.

The successful candidate will work on a collaborative project with
Hinchingbrooke hospital investigating the effects of peripheral visual field
loss in patients with glaucoma and how these affect everyday tasks such as
adaptive gait and reach and grasp movements. You will be expected to evaluate
the level of glaucoma loss, collect data on movement performance, analyse
data and report findings to the research team. You will also be encouraged to
write papers and apply for additional funding. You should have relevant
experience or are willing to learn how to carry out motion analysis and
working with patients. A relevant PhD in optometry or gait analysis is
required.
