Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work on the project
""How does the eye-movement system mediate the formation retention and
recall of visuospatial working memories?". The successful applicant will
work with Dr Daniel Smith (Durham University) and Dr David Pearson
(University of Aberdeen) on a 12 month ESRC funded project investigating
the extent to which preventing participants from planning eye-movements
interferes with memory for spatial locations. The successful applicant
will be based in the Wolfson Research Institute at Durham University.
The post is fixed-term, full-time and is available with a start date of
1st October 2011.
Person Specification
Essential:
1st degree in Psychology or a related discipline
PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or a related discipline
Experience designing, running, analysing and reporting behavioural
experiments
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desirable
Experience with collecting and analysing eye-tracking data
Ability to program in either E-prime or Borland C++
Track record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Experience in designing and analysing experiments investigating the
eye-movement system, working memory or visual attention
