Research Fellow

The Department of Psychology at Swarthmore College invites applications for a two-year position as postdoctoral research fellow. The department seeks to hire an individual with experience in event-related potentials (ERP) research to set up and maintain an ERP lab. The ideal candidate should have completed a Ph.D. with graduate work that includes training in behavioral experimental design and ERP and be interested in working on collaborative research with students and faculty in the department. Non-doctoral candidates with extensive ERP experience will also be considered for the position. Candidates with interest in working on ERP research in psycholinguistics, developmental psycholinguistics, or perception and attention are particularly encouraged to apply, though candidates with interests in social, clinical, or other areas of psychology involving ERP research will also be actively considered. Salary is commensurate with NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines. Ideally, the candidate would be available to start in the summer of 2011.

Swarthmore College is a small highly selective liberal arts college in Southeastern Pennsylvania located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The Department of Psychology seeks to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to be involved in professional level collaborative research. It is anticipated that the research fellow position will provide opportunities for authorship on research publications.

Swarthmore has a strong institutional commitment to excellence through diversity in its educational program and employment practices and actively seeks and welcomes applications from candidates with exceptional qualifications, particularly those with demonstrable commitments to a more inclusive society and world.

Inquiries and applications may be addressed to the search committee via Professor Frank Durgin, of the Department of Psychology, fdurgin1 at swarthmore.edu. A cover letter, curriculum vita, and 3 letters of reference are required.
