Thanks everyone for your helpful replies! The general consensus seems to be
in favor of Minolta devices. Either the LS-100 for luminance only (
http://www.konicaminolta.com/instruments/products/light/luminance-meter/ls100-ls110/index.html
)
or the CS-100a for luminance and color readings (
http://www.konicaminolta.com/instruments/products/display/luminance-color-meters/cs100a/index.html
).
