Postdoctoral fellowships in visual attention at NIH
Krauzlis Lab
Laboratory of Sensorimotor Research
National Eye Institute
Positions are available in my lab for postdoctoral researchers to study visual attention and eye movements in primates and/or mice. The experimental work will focus on neurophysiology in awake behaving animals, combined with pharmacological and optogenetic manipulations of neuronal activity. Specific projects will include investigation of how manipulation of activity in the superior colliculus alters performance on visual attention tasks and changes neuronal signal processing in other brain regions. Projects may also include fMRI with non-human primates.
The laboratory forms part of the Laboratory of Sensorimotor Research, a group of six principal investigators with a common interest in primate neurophysiology and visual behavior. The group is well funded and offers state-of-the-art facilities, in a collegial atmosphere. There are also close links with the rest of the NIH’s extensive Neuroscience program. The NIH campus is located in Bethesda, Maryland, a 15 min subway-ride away from the center of Washington, DC.
The Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field and have experience with MATLAB. Expertise in single-unit neurophysiology would be advantageous, but is not necessary. Starting salary will be $44,000 - $59,400, depending on experience. Applicants should email a Curriculum Vitae and brief Statement of Research Interests to:
