At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, Aalborg University Copenhagen a position as Assistant Professor in Media Technology is open for appointment from August 15, 2011 or soon hereafter. The position is aviable for a period up to 3 years.
The Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, section for Media Technology, carries out research and education in a broad area of media technology covered areas as human computer interaction, multimodal interaction, perception and cognition, sound and music computing, virtual and augmented reality, cultural aspects of Media Technology.
Job description
Research areas will be within Media Technology with a focus in one or more of the following: Augmented reality, HCI, computer graphics, animations, computer vision, gesture recognition and multi-modal systems.
Teaching will be in the Medialogy bachelor and master programs. It will be preferred that candidates have documented teaching experiences in areas related to one or more of these studies (for the full study programs please follow this link http://www.sict.aau.dk<http://www.sict.aau.dk/>)

Qualification requirements:
Appointment to Assistant Professor presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as an Assistant Professor cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University (appointment at Assistant Professor level cannot exceed a period of eight years in total in Denmark, however max. six years at Assistant Professor level at the same institution).
Preferably the successful candidate should also have experience in team based work as well as working in EU consortiums with multiple partners, designing and implementing field trials with up-coming technologies, and working across multiple applications and contexts.
The application must contain the following:
• A motivated text wherein the reasons for applying, qualifications in relation to the position, and intentions and visions for the position are stated.
• A current curriculum vitae.
• Education (documentation for degrees obtained).
• Scientific qualifications. A complete list of publications must be attached with an indication of the works the applicant wishes to be considered. You may attach up to 5 publications.
• Teaching qualifications described in the teaching portfolio. If this is not enclosed the applicant must include an explanation for its absence.
• Dissemination qualifications, including participation on committees or boards, participation in organisations and the like.
• Additional qualifications in relation to the position.
• References/recommendations.
• Personal data. An assessment committee will assess all candidates.
Agreement
Appointment and salary acc. to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State.
