The Brain Trauma Foundation (BTF) seeks a research fellow/biomedical
engineer. BTF was founded in 1986 to improve the outcome of Traumatic
Brain Injury (TBI) patients by developing best practice guidelines,
conducting clinical research and educating medical personnel. With
funding from the Department of Defense, BTF is developing a fast and
sensitive attention metric to help assess concussion. The outcome of
this research will be a portable eye movement tracker that can be used
by athletes for sideline assessment and monitoring and by soldiers in
the combat field.
Candidates must have the ability to bridge scientific research and
engineering development. He/she will be responsible for analyzing ocular
pursuit data collected from desktop and prototype portable eye trackers.
The job requires skills in programming (e.g. MATLAB, C/C++) and
hardware/software interfacing. All highly motivated candidates with a
background in computer science, electrical engineering, or areas related
to neuroscience are encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate for the job
has the ability to work within a team environment where research and
design are a collaborative effort, as well as good entrepreneurial
sense.
