[visionlist] optical image map sharing?

Hello all,

I am generally a lurker on the list, but now was hoping to reach out for a
request. I hope it is not asking too much, but I am somewhat of a "newbie"
to this world of academia.

I am doing this small side project and being that my lab is quite limited in
its equipment and data acquisition techniques, I am in need of some data.

In short, I am trying to do some work with V1 maps. Perhaps this was the
next big thing about 15 years ago, and sure I may be a little late in
jumping on this ship, but I am just a graduate student with this small
interest. I have no idea if my idea will pan out to anything significant,
but without data I'll have no idea.

What I am looking for are optical image maps of V1 with some sort of
encoding of orientation preference. I'd like to try and take a look at
differences across different mapping techniques and/or different species. I
have these measures and just wanted to see what the results looked like
after processing the data. I'd like to get a large enough sampling of each
species or technique so that I can play with the statistics. I'm not too
choosy!

If you would be willing to share your data with me I'd of course of course
acknowledge you, etc. This is just my own project and I am doing it out of
pure curiosity. I am quite naive so please forgive me if my request is
outrageous.

Thank you for your time! Please email me off-list if you are interested in
helping/collaborating.

Jen
