The Vision & Image Understanding Laboratory

Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of
California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a position as a
post-doctoral researcher in computational modeling of visual search and
eye movements. This is an initial one year position with the possibility
for renewal annually. The post-doctoral researcher will also have the
opportunity to participate in a variety of ongoing neuroscience and
cognitive neuroscience activities sponsored by the Sage Center for the
Study of the Mind (http://www.sagecenter.ucsb.edu/).
Requirements: The successful candidate should have a strong technical
background and a Ph.D. in any of the following: Vision Science,
Perceptual Psychology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.
Excellent programming skills required. Expertise in three of these four
areas: Statistical decision theory/ROC, Machine learning and
optimization techniques, visual psychophysics and computational
modeling, programming eye trackers. The department is especially
interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and
excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
