Two Post Doctoral Fellowships are currently available at the College of
Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences (University of Exeter, UK -
http://emps.exeter.ac.uk/) in collaboration with Simpleware Ltd
(www.simpleware.com).
18-months PostDoc with the British Heat Foundation
Reference: British Heat Foundation
Salary: £32k per annum
Location: University of Exeter, UK
Duration: 18 months (possible employment with Simpleware after end of
project)
An 18-month Post Doctoral position is available at the College of
Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences (University of Exeter) for a
software programmer in a Research and Development role to develop image
processing tools under the auspices of a British Heart Foundation grant. The
project will look into novel use of nonlinear microscopy and image-based
modelling to determine the relationship between structure and function in
small arteries and veins in health and diabetes. The work will be in close
collaboration with Simpleware.
24-months PostDoc predicting moisture damage in asphalt
A 24-month Post Doctoral position is available at the College of
Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences (University of Exeter) for a
software programmer in a Research and Development role to develop image
processing tools under the auspices of an EPSRC grant. This is a joint
project with TU Delft and De Montfort University looking into numerical
prediction of moisture damage in asphalt. The work at Exeter will be in
close collaboration with Simpleware.
Knowledge, experience, skills, and competencies
For either position you will need to have:
- PhD in Computer Science or Engineering (in exceptional circumstances
appropriate candidate without a PhD may be employed)
- Good knowledge of C++ is required
- Good English
- Knowledge of Linux would be a plus
- Knowledge of VTK, ITK, wxWidgets, Visual C++ would be very appreciated
(ideal candidate)
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative whilst being a team
player
- Ability to work in a flexible environment
