The Department of Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi is seeking to fill five tenure-track positions, four at the rank of assistant professor and one at the rank of associate professor, beginning August 2012.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology by time of appointment; potential for excellence in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; and ability to establish an active, programmatic line of research and seek external funding. Review of applications will begin November 1, 2011, and continue until the position is filled. Applications from women and minorities are especially encouraged.

Experimental: We anticipate filling one position in Social Psychology within the experimental program. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in social cognition or social development (broadly defined). However, we also welcome qualified applicants from other areas of social psychology. Although candidates from all areas of experimental psychology are encouraged to apply for this position, we are especially interested in candidates with research interests that overlap with those of existing faculty at the Gulf Coast and Hattiesburg campuses, particularly social, cognitive, behavioral neuroscience, and developmental psychology. School: We seek two SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS to join our APA and NCATE/NASP-accredited program in school psychology. One position will be for a training director at the associate level and the second position will be at the assistant level. For more information, contact Brad A. Clinical: We seek a Clinical Psychologist to join our APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology at the assistant professor level with expertise that contributes to either our adult clinical or child clinical concentration areas. The University of Southern Mississippi has approximately 16,000 students on two campuses. The Department of Psychology, designated as one of six Centers of Excellence in the university, is a growing and dynamic department, with 33 full-time faculty lines and approximately 550 undergraduate majors and 120 graduate students. It is located in Hattiesburg, MS, a prosperous Sun Belt community about 70 miles from the Gulf Coast and about 100 miles from New Orleans.
