[visionlist] PhD Positions in Computer Vision and Machine Learning (Carnegie Mellon University)

A full-time postdoctoral scholar position is currently open in the Human
Sensing Laboratory  (www.humansensing.cs.cmu.edu) at Carnegie Mellon
University. The position is in the area of computer vision and machine
learning with applications to understanding human behavior from sensory
data.

25% of the time of the post-doc will be devoted to coordinating the work of
several graduate students in one or two projects.  Potential projects will
be in the areas of driver fatigue detection, facial analysis, video analysis
and activity recognition. The other 75% of the time will be dedicated to
conducting basic research in computer vision and machine learning.  A strong
mathematical background in linear algebra and statistics is required.
Knowledge of time series analysis is a plus.  This will be a one year
position initially, with the possibility of an extension pending funding.
