PhD studentship in Vision Sciences

This PhD studentship, funded by the UK College of Optometrists, is
available only to optometrists registered with the General Optical
Council (UK), and will be supervised by Maggie Woodhouse and Jon
Erichsen at the School of Optometry & Vision Sciences, Cardiff
University, and Cathy Williams at Bristol Eye Hospital.

The study, entitled “The assessment of tracking difficulties in
children”, will involve non-invasive eye movement recording to
establish norms for 'tracking' and other eye movements in children
from a range of ages. The further aim is to examine children at risk
of eye movement difficulties and develop guidelines for eye care
practitioners in the detection and impact of eye movement disorders.
The candidate would normally be expected to have graduated with at
least a II-1 BSc degree.
