A funded post-doctoral position is available in the newly formed
Laboratory of Systems Neural Development (P.I. Matthew Colonnese) in
the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology and Institute for
Neuroscience at The George Washington University Medical Center,
Washington DC. The lab studies the synaptic, network, hormonal and
metabolic control of spontaneous activity during development using the
visual system of behaving rodents as a primary model. The ultimate
goal of the laboratory is an understanding of the function of
spontaneous activity and cortical network state in the development of
sensory perception and plasticity.
Interested candidates should have demonstrated expertise in one or
more of the following areas: computational analysis of
multi-electrode recordings, whole cell recording in vivo or slices,
visual receptive field mapping in animal models, optical imaging of
neurovascular coupling. The lab is part of a rapidly expanding group
of investigators at GW and Children’s National Medical Center
dedicated to the study of neural development in health and disease
(www.gwumc.edu/neuroscience).
Position is available in from early 2012. Competitive salary and
benefits. Please send a CV and letter of interest to
