The Vision & Image Understanding Laboratory 
<http://www.psych.ucsb.edu/research/viu/> (Eckstein lab) in the 
Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of 
California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a position as a 
post-doctoral researcher in computational modeling of visual search, eye 
movements, human group and machine-assisted search decisions.  This is 
an initial one year position with the possibility for renewal annually. 
The post-doctoral researcher will also have the opportunity to 
participate in a variety of ongoing neuroscience and cognitive 
neuroscience activities sponsored by the Sage Center for the Study of 
the Mind (http://www.sagecenter.ucsb.edu/). Requirements: The successful 
candidate should have a strong technical background and a Ph.D. in any 
of the following: Vision Science, Perceptual Psychology, Computer 
Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.  Excellent 
programming skills required.  Expertise in one or more of these three 
areas highly desirable:  Visual psychophysics, computational modeling, 
machine learning and optimization techniques. *Candidate should be a US 
Citizen per funding agency requirement*. The department is especially 
interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and 
excellence of the academic community.
