A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Nicholas Price at Monash
University in Melbourne, Australia.

The lab studies the neuronal mechanisms underlying visual motion perception
and the control of eye movements. We focus on sensory adaptation and how
information at the level of neuronal populations changes over time.

Techniques applied in the lab include extracellular electrophysiology in
awake macaques (single electrodes, tetrodes and multi-electrode arrays),
array recordings in anaesthetised marmosets, human psychophysics and eye
movement recordings.

The successful candidate will have a quantitative background and a PhD,
ideally in neuroscience, psychology or engineering. Skills and experience
that are highly desirable, and which the successful candidate will receive
further training in, include: electrophysiological recordings and data
analysis; behavioural training; human psychophysics; computer programming
for stimulus presentation and experimental control (Psychtoolbox, Matlab
and C); and the ability to implement statistical techniques for neuronal
data analysis.

Monash University is located in Melbourne, a large and vibrant city with
diverse culture, great food, fantastic arts festivals and easy access to
the outdoors.

Remuneration package: $81-95k, depending on knowledge and experience. This
includes Level A base salary $76-81k, leave loading and up to 17%
employer’s contribution to Superannuation.

Starting date is flexible, but the position is available now.
