A Postdoctoral position is available for an NIH-funded project that will
examine the visual deficits in adults and children with amblyopia. The
project is a collaboration between Zhong-Lin Lu at the Ohio State
University, Peter Bex and Luis Lesmes at Schepens Eye Research
Institute/Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, and
David Hunter at Children’s Hospital, Boston. The position is initially
available for one year with the possibility of extension, and there will be
opportunities to spend time in both Boston, MA, and Columbus, Ohio.
We seek individuals with a PhD (or equivalent) with experience in basic or
clinical vision science. Successful applicants will coordinate
computer-based psychophysical experiments to study visual function in
adults and children with amblyopia. Organization, motivation, and the
ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing are highly
desired. Special consideration will be given to those with previous
experience with psychophysical testing of children.
Interested individuals should send to Peter Bex (*

statement of research interests, the names of 2 referees and the expected
date of availability. Applications should be received before June 1st,
2012, but later applications will be considered until the position is
filled. There will be an opportunity to discuss the position at ARVO or VSS.
