Here is the blurb and some details of our VSS satellite:

Publishing, Open Access, & Open Science
11am-12pm, Friday 11 May (the morning that VSS starts) in Royal Ballroom 1-3

We all hope for an open system of science in which:
	• Journal articles are inexpensive or free.
	• Peer review is fair and efficient.
	• Experiments can be fully replicated by anyone.
Achieving these goals is more feasible than ever, but most publishers, journals, and researchers have made few changes to the way they do business. This satellite will include discussion of possible solutions.

Chairs: Jon Pierce and Alex Holcombe

Schedule
11:00 Dwight J. Kravitz, coauthor of "Toward a new model of scientific publishing: discussion and a proposal" (http://bit.ly/JHMPZJ)
11:20 Questions and discussion
11:25 Alex Holcombe: Publishing, corporate megapublishers and alternatives, and open science (related article: http://bit.ly/y2y14g)
11:45-12pm General discussion.
More information is at http://openwetware.org/wiki/OpenVisionScience

All are welcome to attend- just show up. Hope to see you there.
