A postdoctoral position is available in my laboratory at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. We aim to understand the neural mechanisms underlying visual motion perception using behavioral, neuroimaging and computational methods.
Work in the lab focusses on how 3D motion perception arises from the two retinal images. We typically use stereoscopic (3D) displays (using mirror-stereoscopes and shutter glasses). An interest in these technologies and a desire to tinker with them is highly desired.
More information about the work in our lab can be found at http://psych.wisc.edu/vision.
The ideal candidate will have strong skills in some combination of visual psychophysics, neuroimaging (fMRI), and computational modeling. Programming experience in Matlab (Psychtoolbox) and OpenGL is preferred. Start date is flexible. The position is for one year, with the possibility of extension for another.
If you are interested, please email a CV, and a short statement of your research interests to Bas Rokers (rokers at wisc dot edu). If you are attending the Vision Sciences Society conference in Naples, Florida there will be an opportunity to meet there.
The University of Wisconsin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
