The University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine, is a world renowned
institution for biomedical research and patient care. Its Radiology
Department is consistently ranked among the best in the nation. We are
looking for two Postdoctoral Research Associates to participate in,
but not limited to research in (i) image perception (including
eye-position measurements), (ii) analysis of radiologist performance
data, and (iii) a new research program focused on a novel approach to
designing computer-aided detection and diagnosis algorithms. The
candidate should have a recent PhD in physics, computer science,
electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or related discipline.
The position requires strong analytical and programming abilities. The
applicant should have experience in image processing/computer vision
(e.g., segmentation, object detection, feature extraction) and be
proficient in modern high-level languages (e.g., R, IDL, Matlab, Java
and/or C#). Ability to program and maintain a high-performance
200-node cluster and Mac programming will be helpful. Excellent verbal
and written communication skills as well as ability of conducting
independent scientific research and preparing high quality
publications are also desired. Each candidate is also encouraged to
explore his/her own research interest and/or new research projects
that fit the scope of biomedical imaging research. The University of
