Research Assistant I needed to work on a project investigating mechanisms of cognition in NHP's.

Key Functions and Expected Performances:

 *   Participation in behavioral and/or physiological experiments
 *   Training animals for various behavioral tasks
 *   Data analysis
 *   Timely data entry
 *   Maintenance of neat and orderly records
 *   Handling of NHP's
 *   Environmental enrichment
 *   Other duties necessary for functioning of the laboratory.
Preferred Qualifications:

 *   Bachelor's degree with programming/ engineering experience is highly desirable.
 *   Experience with MATLAB is highly desirable but not essential.
 *   The ideal applicant will have previous experience with electrophysiology, or programming, or working with nonhuman primates, and an interest in research.
 *   The individual must demonstrate a willingness to multitask and learn more advanced technical skills as required. The suitable candidate should be able to participate in the day-to-day operations of studies (data collection and analysis).
 *   Enthusiasm for working closely with non-human primates is necessary.
 *   Excellent communication skills, and large amounts of patience.
 *   Employees must be able to effectively follow complex oral and written instructions.
 *   The ideal applicant will demonstrate the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and/or create new SOPs, and to interact with other personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
Additional Information:

This is a full-time position. Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays, and overtime as required, as well as participate in training and occupational health and safety programs.

Salary is commensurate upon years of education and experience.
