TECHNICAL ASSISTANT, McGovern Institute for Brain Research-Kanwisher
Lab, to help with designing, coding, running, and analyzing behavioral
and fMRI studies of adults, children, and children with autism.
Responsibilities include designing, programming, and analyzing
experiments; conducting fMRI scans and behavioral experiments;
analyzing behavioral and MRI data; and general lab management.
REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree in cognitive science, neuroscience,
computer science, engineering, psychology, or math; and evidence of
serious interest in a career in cognitive neuroscience. Must have
strong math and computer skills, including substantial coding
experience, e.g., MATLAB, C, etc.; Macintosh and Windows
troubleshooting skills; and comfort with UNIX/Linux environments.
Should possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability
to interact effectively with children and their parents. Seek
organized, self-motivated, independent, and reliable individual who is
able to multitask efficiently in a fast- paced environment. Research
experience in cognitive neuroscience would be helpful, as would
experience conducting and/or or analyzing fMRI experiments and/or
anatomical MRI studies. Availability to test children on weekends
(approximately one full weekend per month) desirable. MIT-00008694
