We are offering a 1-2 year research assistant position in the newly established laboratory of Alex Maier. Our laboratory focuses on visual perception in the non-human primate model, using a combination of neurophysiological techniques and fMRI (see: http://maierlab.com). The position will focus on research, including behavioral testing of nonhuman primates, technical development, computer programming, data collection and analysis. 

The ideal candidate would have previous research experience with fMRI and/or neurophysiology/EEG, and extensive computer programming skills (MATLAB). This is an excellent position for someone who would like to obtain additional research experience and scientific authorship before going to graduate school. The research projects will be  integrated into the Cognitive Psychology and Vision Core of the Vanderbilt Department of Psychology - a very active and collaborative environment that features many leaders of the field, including two members of the National Academy of Sciences (see: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/psychological_sciences/people/?group=faculty).
