Title: IEEE ISMAR 2012 Workshop on Tracking Methods and Applications (TMA)
Workshop URL: http://ilab.cs.ucsb.edu/tma/12/
Workshop Date: Monday, November 5, 2012
Paper Submission deadline: Tuesday, June 26, 2012
++++++++++++++++++++++++++ About the Workshop +++++++++++++++++++++++++
The focus of this workshop is on presenting, discussing and
demonstrating recent tracking methods and their applications that work
well in practice and that show some superiority over state-of-the-art
methods. Rather than focusing on pure novelty, this workshop encourages
presentations that concentrate on complete systems and integrated
approaches.
The TMA workshop looks at pose tracking from an end-to-end point of
view. Practical tracking solutions for AR are usually complex systems
that combine many methods including, but not limited to
- Model-based detection and tracking
- Large scale object recognition
- SLAM and online reconstruction
- CPU offloading (e.g. GPU processing)
- Sensor integration and fusion
- User generated content and tracking data
- Networking and persistence
- Flow graphs and plug-in architectures
- Calibration
Two keynote talks given by invited world-renowned specialists in fields
from which Augmented Reality can highly benefit will be delivered at the
beginning of each presentation session. The fields include computer
vision and other sensing modalities (e.g. GPS, inertial, etc.) and
systems issues (calibration, estimation, fusion, etc.). The speakers
will be announced soon.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Paper Submission +++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Authors are requested to submit original, unpublished manuscripts in
standard IEEE proceedings format in PDF format that include contact
information of all the authors through the ISMAR 2012 submission system.
Submitted paper should address at least one of the workshop topics or a
relevant topic indicated by the author. Accepted paper must be presented
by the authors at the workshop.
All workshop material will be included on the conference stick.
