Call for papers: Vision Research Feature Issue

Testing Vision: From Lab Psychophysical Tests to Clinical Evaluations

Vision Research will be publishing a feature issue based on the symposium “Testing Vision: From Lab Psychophysical Tests to Clinical Evaluations” held at ARVO 2012. All seven speakers of the symposium (see list below) have kindly agreed to contribute to the feature issue.

Sheila K. West, PhD, "Understanding functional impairment and disability requires multiple measures of vision"

Ian L. Bailey, OD, DSc, "Visual acuity testing"

Denis G. Pelli, PhD, "Contrast sensitivity testing"

Chris A. Johnson, PhD, "The psychophysical basis for perimetry and visual field testing"

Jay Neitz, PhD, "Color vision testing"

Cynthia Owsley, PhD, MSPH, "Visual processing speed"

Gary S. Rubin, PhD, "Measuring reading performance"

To provide a more comprehensive coverage of the different types of clinical visual function evaluation, Vision Research is soliciting general submission to the feature issue. As a goal to maintain consistency of the papers, general submission must follow the same structure as those of the invited speakers of the symposium — providing a rich history, a theoretical basis and a framework for achieving practical outcomes of the visual function to be discussed.

Guest editors for the feature issue are Stephen Burns, Susana Chung, Dennis Levi and Paul McGraw.

Submission must be prepared according to Vision Research’s Guide for Authors, and submitted online via http://ees.elsevier.com/vr/

All submissions must be received by August 31, 2012.
