Updates about The 1st VSAC - Visual Science of Art Conference - 1-2 September 2012, and The 35th European Conference on Visual Perception - ECVP - 2-6 September 2012

We are happy to announce that the program of VSAC 2012 and ECVP 2012 is now online.

We also remind you that during the two conferences there will be an Exhibition called “IllusoriaMente” (meaning both illusorily and the illusory mind) dedicated to the memory of the late Prof. Richard Gregory and the late Prof. Tom Troscianko. The Exhibition will celebrate the ingenuity and creativity of both VSAC and ECVP attendees in producing attractive scientific/artistic products ranging from visual illusions to all kinds of experimental tools/procedures to applications/implementations of theories, mechanisms and principles ruling the visual system. 
The exhibition will be held in two of the striking C16th lookout towers in the old town – the Torre Sulis and the Torre San Giovanni for the population of Alghero and the attendees of VSAC and ECVP. 
We plan to have new innovation at this year’s ECVP: the “IllusoriaMente SHOW TIME”to be held on Monday evening (3rd September) in the Carlos V hotel. 
There will be two awards and prizes for the best “Shows” – a Richard Gregory prize for the most amusing demonstration and a Tom Troscianko prize for the most outrageous exhibit. After “ShowTime”, we intend to add the prizewinners’ exhibits and several of the other striking demonstrations to the exhibits in the Sulis and San Giovanni towers that will then be on view to the general public throughout the rest of the meeting.
