Top-level Early Career Scientist Vacant Positions
The Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology wishes to recruit top-level early career scientists with a developing exceptional track record in any of the following areas, as broadly specified, to complement and promote the existing interdisciplinary research portfolio:
· mental diseases such as schizophrenia and depression
· molecular pharmacology and cell signaling systems
· sensory and motor networks
· spinal cord injury
· chronic pain
· stroke research
· clinical neuropsychology
· cognitive neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG, MEG, TMS)
· models of cortical information processing of cognitive functions
· social interactions
The Institute (http://www.gla.ac.uk/researchinstitutes/neurosciencepsychology/) has state-of-the-art research facilities and is supported by significant RCUK, Wellcome and European funding. Over time, the appointee will be expected to generate new income to support a research group through competitive funding mechanisms.
The position:
• Is from 3 to 5 years in length.
• Salary ranges from £31,948 to £45,486.
• Provides up to £50k additional research support funds.
Successful applicants will also benefit from the University's peer group mentorship programme for fellows and the possibility of an additional year of funding and / or the opportunity to be transferred to an open ended lecturing contract, subject to performance and strategic fit.
Key Requirements:
Applicants must have a PhD and be early career scientists with exceptional promise of an established research track record of 3 to 6 years experience.
A very strong publication record for their early career stage is essential.
